    ABB to manufacture an optical sensor for GHGSat

    GHGSat launched its first high-resolution satellite for the detection of greenhouse gases (GHG) in June 2016 and is currently building two more using US$ 20M in series A funding raised to date. GHGSat’s second satellite (GHGSat-C1) is scheduled for launch in spring aboard Arianespace’s Vega launch platform. A third satellite (GHGSat-C2) is also in development and is planned for launch in 2020.  Read more

    Enerkem goes further with its biofuels

    Given that the transport sector accounts for 40% of the GHGs emitted on the planet, decarbonization of fuels appears to be an obvious way of reducing the environmental impact of this sector. Good news! Enerkem, a member of Écotech Québec, has just received EPA approval. Read more

    Quebec to quench the thirst of San Diego

    In California, drinking water management is an ongoing concern. In addition to coping with drought, seawater is increasingly infiltrating California's groundwater tables and depleting the region's natural drinking water resources. In addition, treatment systems are not designed to receive brackish water. California must therefore find a solution to diversify its drinking water supply. Good news! The city of San Diego has just signed a contract with a Quebec company to address this problem. Read more
